Henley Releases New List of Most Powerful Passports: Serbian Passport on the Rise

The company Henley & Partners recently released an updated list of the world’s most powerful passports. Compared to the rankings from January this year, Serbia’s passport has advanced from 37th to 34th position out of a total of 199 analyzed countries and territories.

Henley & Partners highlight their Passport Index as the original and most authoritative ranking system, where the main criterion is the number of destinations passport holders can visit without needing a visa.

Although the Serbian passport is now ranked 34th on the list, it is important to note that multiple countries can share the same position. For instance, on the current list, five countries share the second place, while seven countries occupy the third position.

Due to this ranking method, Serbia officially sits at 34th place, but in reality, there are 71 countries ahead of us, meaning we are closer to the middle of the table rather than the top.

Statistics indicate that this progress is due to the ability of Serbian citizens to travel without a visa or to obtain a visa on arrival in as many as 140 countries.
